When the first time i was here, i asked the driver, why the selling stuff like that.. he said to me, lagos is business centre.. ohhh... i cant say anything.. because how poor they are.. sometimes i feel pity of them. thank to Allah al Mighty, we in malaysia can live in comfort although we not rich .

there's so many stories to tell since my last post last month before we went to south africa vacation.

1. few day before leaving lagos for vacation, my maid ( here we called steward) was sacked. it was because she took a few stuff from the house. i just found out the thing went missing just the day before we went vacation during to pack all the stuff in teh luggage. for me, she was not honest when stealing the stuff.. the kid's clothes. even a few mine n hubby's...

2. the part of the maid stories became havoc since the police investigated her.. took her 2 the police post (shell police!). but dammed... the maid still not admit her fault.. dammed...

3. all the friend showed their care by visit us, make a phone call, YM... just to hear from me the stories.

4. the maid was banned to work in any expartriate compound.. serve her right!

now... i dont have any steward. i'm happy with it.. because no need to think about how rude they are, the safety about us... about our things in the house... thus, i have to built my trust again to nigerian..

sorry to say nigerian, there no place for u in my house... i gave u better living by hiring u, paid u salary to make ur live better... give u food, treat u nicely.. but what u repay me.. u even stealing my stuff... dammed...

Apologize to the Children

As a mother, sometimes I scolded my kids, I yelled at them, and sometimes I hurt their feeling. So, it doesn't mean that I not love them. Just to tought them a proper mannars in my own way.

But as a adult, it not a mistake if I appologized to them when I hurt their feeling. For me, by doing like that , i can teach the children the meaning of forgiveness, their responsibility when they doing the wrong thing....

so this is what i read thru the internet.. and the thing that i practice for a long times...

Step1

Realize that you have made a mistake. Accept this responsibility, or the benefit of the apology is lost. The apology must be genuine. Remember that children are quite perceptive and will know that you are not sincere.

Step2

Remain calm. If you are too angry to think clearly, tell your child that you need to spend some time alone before continuing the conversation. Think about what happened and why. Assess your feelings by thinking about how you would describe what happened to an adult friend.

Step3

Apologize simply and directly. Express regret or sadness at the hurt you have caused. Apologize for your behavior, not yourself. You might say, "I am sorry I lost my temper and called you lazy and worthless." This is more effective than saying "I am sorry I am a thoughtless and impatient mother."

Step4

Don't excuse your behavior by blaming your child. Saying "If you weren't always late, I wouldn't have gotten so angry" just shifts the blame to your child and diminishes the effectiveness of the apology. Saying "I'm sorry....but" sounds accusatory and doesn't work as an apology. Save a discussion of the underlying problem (e.g., you missed the bus again because you sleep too late) for another time.

Step5

Ask yourself and your child how it could have gone better. Ask what you could have done differently to avoid the problem. Review both your behavior and your child's together and ask each other how to handle similar problems in the future. Be sure to ask for forgiveness. Saying "I was wrong, will you please forgive me?" reinforces your feelings of regret while giving your child an understanding of the power of forgiveness.

Step6

Remember that you're not perfect and that you will make mistakes. The important thing is to acknowledge your mistake and move on. Remind yourself of all of the good things you have done as a parent, and know that your well-made apology is now one of them.

Fasting today...

After a few months keep on postpone to 'qada' fasting, so i think this is the time i have to do so. I hope i will finish all my 'qada' fasting before we out to vacation in South Africa by June 5th. I have 5 more days to go.. ohhh....

So, today, i have to keep calm, not tempered to steward of course... haha...

But, this morning, she keep on answering me when i talked to her. so that, i have to yell at her just because i want her to hear what I'm trying to tell her, not to answering me. Auch... cut out my 'pahala' today because of that.. hahaha...

shopping online..

This morning, i sat on the chair in front the pc just to browse the online shopping. Nothing to buy, just have a look at Ebay and Amazon.com... Just to glance at the handbags, books, and a few kitchenware stuff there.

Actually, when i was in Houston, my hubby always bought something thru online. Usually, every week, there will be somebody knocked the door to send the parcel.. So, when we moved to Lagos, i really miss the shopping online. Miss that somebody will knock my door just to send me something maybe a surprised from hubby to me. And here, in the new place, i found out a lots of stuff in the house that we bought online.. including te stereo, Plasma Tv, home theather. And also mostly of the books in the bookcase we bought thru amazon.com.

i feel like enjoying myself thru shopping online. that's make me miss US very much.. And that's why, i always browse the shopping website just to entertain my eyes...lol..

( need somebody to help me with the grammer... lol)
